Thanks for giving this opportunity, I give my view about movie of Frankenstein. My view is that movie is helpful to understand the real aim of the novel. When we read original novel we do not get all the information easily but when we see movie we get all the information easily. We can says that it is Gothic masterpiece of Mary Shelley. The novel owes a great deal to the scientific progress and discoveries about electricity at the time. Movie starts with sea storm and end with sea storm. Some scene we feel that horror. Monster character is good for me because his identity as a monster but by heart he was good. After his creation Victor rejected him and society also not accepted. Otherwise he help the one Old man’s family and old man also accept his friendship but Old man’s son was rejected him as a result he crying a lot because he help them otherwise society not accepted. So as a result he burnt old man’s house. He was good but society not accepted so he behave like Monster. At the end we see that Victor rejected him otherwise he burnt with him because he feels that Victor was father of him. He feel guilty about all these situation as a result he destroyed his life. When Monster killed Elizabeth ,Victor recreate Elizabeth because he loved her so much so he accepted her ugly look but he rejected Monster .We can says that Monster look is ugly but his heart was not ugly and Victor’s look is good but his heart was ugly. Here we see that director used appropriate symbols like fire. This is a good information about novel and director is faithful to the novel also. So movie always clear our doubt and it helpful for our better understanding .

Comedy of menace in relation to the dramatic content of Pinter's play " The Birthday Party"
Discuss the concept of “ comedy of menace” in relation to
the dramatic content of Pinter’s play “ The Birthday Party”.
As we know that phrase “ comedy of menace “ often applied to
his early plays such as “ The Room”, “Birthday Party” and “ a Slight Ache”. It
suggest that although they are funny, they are also frightening or menacing in
a vague and undefined way. Even as they laugh, the audience is unsettled, ill
at ease and uncomfortable.
And we also know that comedy of menace is a term used to
describe the plays of David Campton and Harold Pinter by drama critic Irving
Wardle, borrowed from the subtitle of Campton’s play The Lunatic View: A Comedy
of Menace in reviewing their plays in Encore in 1958.
“comedy of menace” caught on and have been used generally in
advertisements and in critical accounts, notices, and reviews to describe
Pinter’s early plays and some of his later work as well.
The Birthday Party- the comedy of menace is a tragedy with a
number of comic elements. It is a comedy which also produces an overwhelming
tragic effect. Throughout the play we
are easily kept amused and yet throughout the play we find ourselves also on
the brink of terror. Some indefinable and vague fear keeps our nerves on an
edge. We feel uneasy all the time even when we are laughing or smiling with
amusement. This dual quality gives to the play a unique character.
The menace evolves from actual violence in the play or from
an underlying sense of violence throughout the play.
It may develop from a feeling of uncertainty and insecurity.
The audience may be made to feel that
the security of the principal character and even the audience’s own security is
threatened by some impending danger or fear.
This feeling of menace establishes a strong connection
between character’s predicament and audience’s personal anxieties.
Pinter’s own comment
“ more often than not the speech only seems to be funny –the
man in question is actually fighting a battle for his life”.
The atmosphere of menace is also created by Pinter’s ability
to drop suddenly from a high comic level to one of deep seriousness.
The room or house represents security from the outside world
but sadly it is impossible sustain. The menace in the form of Goldberg and McCann represents a
hostile outside world. They are the exception to the rule where life is normal
and pleasant outside.
Here we find that general setting of the play is naturalistic
and mundane. Involving no menace. However
One of Pinter’s greatest skill is his ability to make an
apparently normal and trivial object, like a toy drum, appear strange and
threatening. Pinter can summon forth an
atmosphere of menace from ordinary everyday objects and events and one way in
which this is done is by combining two apparently opposed moods such as terror
and amusement.
Much of Birthday Party is both frightening and funny.
Stanley is destroy by ‘ a torrent of words, but mingled in with the serious
accusations eg “ He’s killed his wife” are ones which are trivial and ludicrous
eg “ why do you pick your nose?”
Another technique that Pinter uses to create an atmosphere
of menace is to cast doubt on almost everything in the play. One method of
doing this is to have a character give a clear and definite statement and then
have him flatly deny it later on.
The nature of reality here is confused the audience no
longer knows what is or is not true and out of this comes an atmosphere of
mystery and uncertainty. Pinter does not give background information about the
characters in Birthday Party. This means the characters are not fixed as
belonging to any particular place or time! Stanly has no history, he does not
belong to anyone or anywhere, he has no family.
Thus at last I would like to say that the absurdity of the
play which is represented through menacing effect has its own symbolic
significance. It tries to explain the human predicament in this indifferent
& hostile world.
Friday as a subaltern
Friday as subaltern
As we know that Robinson Crusoe to communicate a point
regarding subaltern language. Upon
meeting with Friday, Crusoe admits that although Friday’s words were very sweet
to his ears, he could not understand them. His means of correcting their was
not to learn Friday’s language and there by gain another tool of communication
but to teach him English.
Here we see that Crusoe is a ‘master’ and Friday is a
‘slave’. Here Friday and Crusoe to be companions and get Crusoe needed a slave,
a man attendant and no one would trust the existence of a white slave. Friday
wouldn’t just take orders from Crusoe, unless they are really true friends and
Crusoe isn’t just using Friday as a servant. Since the island contains only the
two of them until Susan come along , Friday would have no trouble taking over
Crusoe since Friday is younger and stronger.
However, I don’t understand why Friday doesn’t react against
Crusoe is this because they are good friends? Or he’s the obedient servant,
knowing nothing more than serving his master ?
At the moment when Crusoe teaches Friday to call him
“Master” Friday becomes an enduring political symbol of racial injustice in a
modern world critical of imperialist expansion. Friday is a key figure within
the context of the novel.

Sense of an Ending
I am share my view about the Sense of an Ending. Here we clearly find
that Tony Webster give reason to look history in another way of looking. We can say that Tony’s Journey is like
“ know all to know
nothing”
Here we see that Blood Money direct connected with the Sarah
and her relation with Adrian , her money given to Tony. Here we find that two
things from Veronica’s perspective first is she may be think that Sarah is
responsible for Adrian Suicide because his relation with his own girlfriend’s
mother. Second reason is Tony Webster is responsible for Adrian’s Suicide
because of letter.
The equation means S
means Sarah, V means Veronica, a 1 menas Adrian, b means baby
Here we clearly find that b is the reason of Sarah relation
with Adrian and with the break relation with Veronica.
a2
+ v + a1 X s = b?
a2
means Antony Webster, V means Veronica, S means Sarah and b menas baby.
Antony Webster whose relation leads Veronica to break up with him and to date his friend Adrian so it indirectly leads Adrian to date with Veronica’s mother and as a result it leads to formation of baby.
In his last day Adrian was more close to Sarah, she also say
that Adrian was happy in his lat days so it clearly describe that Adrian was
happy with Sarah, in those day’s she was with him. So Adrian dairy with Sarah.
So their relation is affect the Tony’s letter. So until her Death Diary was in her possession . In her will she
passed that Diary to Tony but Veronica was reluctant to hand it over to Tony.
How
was Veronica related to Adrian…
Here
we clearly see that if we connect Adrian who is suffer from mental trauma as
Sarah and Adrian’s son than Veronica and Adrian are sibling. And in another way we consider Adrian, Tony’s
friend who is suffer from mental trauma and has gone mad than he can consider
as step father of Veronica.
This
is my view about the Sense of an Ending.
To the Lighthouse
As we know that
Virginia Woolf tries talk about reality of the society. She represent real
image of the society. Her writing style is simple but effective one.And we also
know that her works examines the structure of human life , from the nature of
relationships to the experience of time. As we know that her writing also
addresses issues relevant to her era and literary circle. One of her most
experimental work To the Lighthouse, she represent the real image of the
society. She represent the real image of which type of women role in society.
As we know that she try to convey her message with her writing and we also know
that she drags reader into absurdity with her writing so we can say that it is
her stream of consciousness. And she represent very well in her writing.
At the end we can say that with her writing she represent very well and
effectively in this and in this style only.
Yes I am totally agree with this statement that “ The novel is both the tribute and critique of Mrs.Ramsay”. As we know that Virginia Woolf is highly intellectual writer. In this novel she represent two types of personality. One person focus on family and one is individual. One side we see that Virginia woolf tries to convey that Mrs. Ramsay is quite good in house work and best housewife. But at the same time she put one individual character Lily Briscoe and we can say that it is known as Virginia Woolf herself. So we can say that may be she is not satisfied with Mrs.Ramsay’s character. So we can say that she represent both the perspective of lady’s life. She represent one is good house work and one is individual human being. And we also see that Mrs.Ramsay’s painting give message that she is also a person outside the home, without home.So this statement represent the reality about the society.
My view is about this statement, as we know that symbol always say something and symbols are objects, characters, figures, or colors used to represent abstract ideas or concept. We can say that Lighthouse is not stand for only two it characters like Mrs.Ramsay and Lily Briscoe But it is stand for individual. But it represent inner voice. As we know that one strong character Mrs.Ramsay does only household work but she is individual person, who handle everything in any time and in any situation. As we know that Lily is painter and she is individual and it is itself achievement for her. So we can say that they both did their work very properly and positively. Both character represent individuality. We also know that the light house suggest that the destinations that seem surest are most unobtainable. As usual Saryu say that it is for strong, personal self confidence, self assurance, faith, belief and support. So we can say that the lighthouse is stand for their strong inner foundation and their inner voice.
AS we know that “KUNSTLERROMEN” is German term and simple meaning of this term is growth of an artist. And it also represent the quality of artist. So we can say that this term reflect in this novel. We can easily say that ‘ To the Lighthouse’ is a “KUNSTLERROMEN” novel because it represent two artist’s growth. One growth of Virginia Woolf’s and another is Lily Briscoes. So here growth reflect in side the novel and out side the novel. So in side the novel we see that Lily’s painting represent growth of artist and out side the we see that growth of Virginia Woolf’s writing. So in this novel we clearly see that two artist growth. As a result we can say that growth is natural with the help of experience. So at end we can say that “ To THE LIGHTHOUSE” is true ‘ KUNSTLERROMEN’ novel.
Here I compared beginning and ending f the novel andfilm adaption of the novel. As per my understanding when we read original novel we can not understand all the things easily but when we see film we get better understanding. As we know that this novel open ended novel. When we look at beginning , we see that James desire to go saw the lighthouse is thwarted by an instructive father. And at the of the novel, he reconciles with his father as his desire to see the lighthouse is satisfied. So we can say that it is the major thing which different in it. And I accept that novel is more poignant than movie . As usual Saryu say that movie restrict our imagination. As we know that we feel tone in movie but in novel we can not feel anything. So movie is more powerful compared with novel.
As we know that Lily’s painting represent a struggle against gender convention, represented by Charles Tansley’s statement that women can’t paint or write. And we also know that Lily completed her painting but after completed her painting she realize that she make a mistake. She represent Mrs.Ramsay in her painting but she cannot do. And she also used words spoken by Mrs.Ramsay “ Closed doors, open windows”. So my view is that she feel she never become Mrs.Ramsay and she cannot justify her painting also. As usual Saryu say that close door of thinking about her and open windows of understanding that she has to believe in herself. So here Virginia Woolf represent the real image of one individual women and her art and thinkingpower.
One Night @ the Call Center
I am share my view about the novel One Night @ the Call Center. It is the well known book of Chetan Bhagat. In this novel Chetan Bhagat represent the reality of the life and he also describe how people face many problems in their life.
One Night @ the call center goes in very interesting way. It is the
story about six people. In this novel Chetan Bhagat describe various human
experience. Here Chetan Bhagat see different way in real problem of the world.
In One Night @ the call center we see that contemporary issues concern
with six characters and their problems. For example their desire. So here we
see that they wants but but they do not get it. So it is a one type failure.
Yes I am agree that Bhagat has a talent for tapping into the zeitgeist.Because
in this novel we see that Bhagat
portrayed reality of the life through six characters. Here we also see that he
give stress on the problem of individual
characters.
Here we also see that Bhagat tone is pitch perfect. He give more stress
on issues of the contemporary society. And he represent call center as central
thing here.So here we can say that Bhagat keenly observed all the things
verywell. Chetan Bhagat’s novel is youth centered, love stories in the backdrop
of contemporary issues. He used easy language with the philosophical meaning.
So reader easily get the meaning what author give the message. So we can say that
his work concern with the philosophical meaning.
Yes here we see that Bhagat has an insight for the contemporary issues
that are movers and shakers in India. We clearly see that his most of works
concern with the contemporary issues like education, youth, globalization ,
anti-American, nationalism, importance of English in society. So in this novel
we see that this type of issues globalization,
nationalism, anti-American.
Menipean satire is a seriomic genre. In this novel we see clearly see
that menipean satire. Here Chetan Bhagat represent the idea of loyality,
bossism, family values, satire on work culture. Satire on people’s mindset that
god solve the problem. Some people think that god help us but it is only belief,In
every time god not help. We only help our self. In this novel we see that all
characters suffer a lot of their problems or we can say that their desire. For
example Priyanka, Radhika.
The
effect of Globalization also we see that in this novel. We know that
globalization is the economic movement. Process of globalization concern with Man-God,Man-Nature,Man-Man,Man-circumtances.
In this
novel we see that Bhagat focus on human experience or we can say that man’s
struggle with corporate world. Here Chetan Bhagat real image of the world.
Chetan
Bhagat describe verywell narrative structure in this novel. In this novel we
see that he makes interesting prologues and epilogues. Here we see that plot
governed by law of probalility, problem of dues ex machine, the god solve the
problem, within the narrative by giving alternative to read the novel. Here we
see that story goes in very interesting way.The story is about six people.Tell
a story with Shyam angle. The story begins with train and end with train.
Verywell done narrative structure by Chetan Bhagat.
Here we can add more
example like Harold Pinter’s The Birthday Party, and Virginia Woolf and her
philosophy.
Popular literature and One Night @ the call center. As we know that
popular literature not deal with abstract problem but it goes with normal
principle. And generalized the problem. It concern with moral teching. It focus
on common sense ideas and values. It is a ground of social conformity. In this
novel we see that characters like superhuman but it give negative impact of the
readers or audience. But in real life we
do not see this type of things. In Some extent it is popular literature but we
can not say that it is a peace of literature.
Self-help book and One Night @ the Call Center: As we know that
self-help book is genre and it is non- fictional writing. But we see that some
fictional writer used it. But it is not accepted by high literature. With help
of self help book reader solve their personal problems. It is a good example of
self improvement. This book One Night @ the Call Center has jumped to cultural
prominence. Self help book support groups. So it is represent horizental
movement. In this book we see that friends are help eachother. Here we see that
“ home truths”. It represent self awareness.
God’s call play a vital role in this novel. It make twist and realized
the characters what the importance in life. But here we clearly see that in
real life this type of things not possible. So we can say that it is a dream or
imagination of writer because this type of things we rarely see in stories
not in real life.
In this
novel we see that anti-American theme play vital role here. With help of Vroom
character we see that this theme. Had you been God, what would have been your
answer to Vroom he said “ If only you
had given India as much as America!”? So we can say that Vroom character
represent this theme. And he represent the true reality of America. But my
point of you is that every country represent
positive and negative side.
So
this is my view about the novel One Night @ the Call Center.
The Da Vinci Code
Here I am share my view about The
Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Here we
clearly see that title itself is symbol. So we can say that symbol itself language.
And it telling something. As we know that it is a conspiracy fiction. And it
focus on the sacred feminine.
Movie is the faithful of the original text. It represent Christine conspiracy. How pagan symbols are
appropriate Christine religion. Here we find that psychological mindset of the
people. Here we find that blind faith and devil worshiping. Here we also see
that different puzzle. Here we see that how society is react. Here we also find
that self impose morality is not good for everybody. So we can say that
individual voice only individual not whole. We can easily see that social
structure, refineness of society and exercise of power. Here we easily find
that dialogue and discourse concern with book and movie. We know that very well
text itself deconstructed. Here we find that how religious play a vital role.
The novel is deconstructed.
Here represent idea of knowebility.Idea of ‘Sin’- i.e. physical
intimacy.’Love’ for non-believers ‘pagan’.Female- Femmefatale- ‘FALL’. ‘Goddess’
worship. Blindness of followers like Opes Dei. Basic restore the idea of
feminine secredness for example Eve. Here we also find that ‘HOPE’ . And it
concern with the basic idea of religion.
